Hannah Selin 

Composer, violist, and vocalist Hannah Selin works with acoustic instruments, voices, electronics, and field recordings to create strikingly vibrant sound-worlds. As a violist, she performs with chamber ensembles and orchestras throughout the New York metropolitan area and works as a session musician. She is co-founder and lead singer with the band GADADU, and violist in Violalia Duo, Xanthoria Quartet, and the Lost Marbles Trio. Hannah's music has been commissioned and performed by ensembles and soloists including the Brooklyn Chamber Orchestra, Voices of Ascension, CreArtBox Ensemble, Chromic Duo, Glass Clouds Ensemble, S.E.M. Ensemble, Argus Quartet, Momenta Quartet, Network for New Music, and vocalist Stephanie Lamprea. Her choral work “Winter” from Four Mountain Songs won the 2022 Red Jasper Award for musical composition as well as second prize in the 2021 Balsys International Composition Competition. Hannah holds a PhD in composition from Temple University and teaches at Rowan University.
